I was looking at his resume on the blog "Kalbijin" owned by another expat who speaks fluent Korean. "Mith" is the blog owners nickname, and he seems to be well disposed to-wards Holley. Anyway Robert Holley has created a political Party. Right now his party is just a name, and not active. If he ever tried to get it moving he would be dearly savaged by the Korean media, and if it did against all the odds get off the ground, it would probably go down as the most corrupt party ever, in the History of Korean politics. A humourous and approximate interpretation of politics is many (poly) blood sucking animals (tics) and I'd say it would adequately describe the machinery of any party of Robert Holley.
Korean politics are personality politics. Candidates don't campaign on the basis of a platform of reforms. They shake as many of their constituents hands as possible and promise them the earth . Holley would probably offer many private schools with high tuition to his constituents , but secretly pocket most of the proceeds. He might also promise to import foreign cars for everyone, but overcharge for them when they arrived. I wouldn't be surprised if he were also to offer many buisness opportunities with very minimal wages to people to build mansions for him and his family.
Roh Tae Woo with his brains in his bum gave his daughter millions of dollars in a huge duffle bag to deposit in Bank accounts in the U.S. There were photographs of one of his aids giving her the bag after the Korean presidential party cleared VIP customs on one of it's official tours. The law caught up with her though, because you just can't open multitudinous accounts in the U.S. and deposit more than $10,000 a shot. Mrs Holley wouldn't know that of course, and would merely do the same thing, and get her name plastered all over the world. The expats in Korea would roll their eyes in their heads again saying. "Oh gee we got another another Korean dingbat".
Good to see that Holley finally paid his dues to the West Virginia bar. Probably shed bitter tears at the expense.
Can't find his name in the American Bar Association. Either he updates his membership or if he isn't a member then he better get it the hell off his resume.

The Mith in the above posting is "Mithridites" on Daves Esl Cafe. He also writes articles in Korean for Korean Newspapers.
Interesting blog. Please try to work on the quality of your writing; if it is more intelligible, then it will be more effective. Thanks!
There is another expat being groomed to enter Korean politics. He is the tall dood on Korean TV who is renowned for his mastery of the Korean language. He is German, and I think his Korean name is "Lee Charm". He is a disciple of the Moonie Church, and I suspect the Moonies want to use him as part of their foray into the local political arena.
The school is activley involved with the GuluWalk programe in support of the children in africa who walked at night to another town to avoid the harsh conditions of their homeland. The school was initiated into the programe in October of 2007 with a walk of it's own through Gwangju while similar walks were held simultaneously through out the world.
There is a video on Yoututube of the school's "Coma State" rock group playing in Gwangju at the destination point of the student's Guluwalk.
This was edited out of the Wikipedia site of the scjhool. Someone seems to have some inside info on the Summer Camp at the school.
"The school runs an English camp in the summer. Some parents send their students to the Gwangju Foreign School Summer Camp as a precurser to maybe latter enrolling them in the school. In the winter and summer breaks there are many English camps. They are a good way for parents to ensure their children's continuity in the use of English, and they are also activity based to allow the students to have fun and enjoy themselves. The good English camps restrict their intake to 10 to 12 students per class to maximise the personal interaction between the students and their teachers. These camps also provide quality books and material for the students and the camp staff. Accomodation is provided for students coming from out of town at no additional expense. The staff are adequately reimbursed and the cost per student for these camps is quite reasonable.
Unfortunately there are many camps that provide minimal material for the students to work with, and have no concern about wether the students learn anything or not. They are expensive too. These camps are riding the Korean wave of parents wanting their children to be exposed to as much English as possible. There are many well meaning parents who have the financial means, but who aren't aware of the options available to them. Some parents of course are just happy to have their children out of the house and away from T.V. for 3 weeks. The camp at this Gwangju Foreign School tends to-ward this later category."
This was deleted from the wikipedia site for the school
The playing facilities are quite limited, but the students are hardy and make the most of what they have. Come basketball season though the teams practice off campus on a regulation size basketball court at the Gwangju Institute of science and Technology.. The school doesn't have a soccer field, but has a very small cindered play area for the elementry students which the older students appropriate for soccer. The school gymnasium or weight room consists of one piece of equipment that would break if anyone wanted to exercise with suitable weights
A post was deleted on this blog about a school that was advertising that they would accomodate students trying to avoid the draft by some dubious in house scheme. That particular school was the M.Wright International College Preparatory school in Yongin.
Any school that would use such a ploy to attract students is not doing it's students any favours. Any student would have a tough time getting a job after college, because most good employers wont hire someone who has shirked his army duties.
Rumour has it that The Summer School Camp is now optional. It has always been mandatory, so I am sure the Holley's have pulled a fast one and reduced staff benefits
somewhere to offset any lose of finances.
Some former student said this about GFS " Aren't you glad we got out of that desolate school haha"
The English camp thing is big buisness. The effectiveness of the camps is debated. There are some good ones however
